6 Books Every Coach Should Read

May 05, 2022

I’ve been seeing a lot of advice on how to scale a coaching business, but one thing that I don’t see enough is how to be a GOOD one to begin with.

As coaches, it’s important that we continue to grow and work on ourselves so we can provide the best possible service to our clients. After all, first and foremost, we are here to HELP.

But in order to be a good coach, doing a lot of the self work is where it needs to begin.

Here are a six books to get you started:

Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins

This is a wonderful foundation for understanding how mindset work  and actions lead to results.

You are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero

A great read if you want to understand money mindset and blocks and how to rework them.

You Turn by Ashley Stahl

A great resource for knowing how to get clear on one’s career path and how to pivot.

Co-Active Coaching

This is the bible for how to collaborate with your clients to build their coaching structure based on what their needs are. It is hands down my favorite "how to be a really good coach" book that is such a hidden secret.

Atomic Habits by James Clear

This book will help you understand how to change your own habits (but this one needs to be implemented to really make a difference!).

Ikigai

This gives a holistic view of what life purpose and fulfillment is about in other cultures and how we can learn from it.

There are many MORE resources that are available for coaches and aspiring coaches.

Please read, learn, practice, apply, invest in yourself, hire a mentor, surround yourself with the right people, and walk the talk before you worry about scaling.

THAT is what makes coaches stand out.
